FAQs
- How long are the National Blood Donor Week events running for?
The events will run from 9 to 15 June 2025. You can choose to attend at a time and location that suits you best during this weeklong event.
- Can all donors attend the event?
While we’d love to celebrate with everyone in person, some events during National Blood Donor Week are by invitation only due to limited capacity. Whether you attend an event or not, this week is all about recognising you—our generous donors—whose life-giving contributions make a difference every day.
- Are there other ways I can get involved in this year’s National Blood Donor Week?
Yes, absolutely! You can continue to donate, encourage a friend to join you and share your reason on our website or on your social media accounts using #lifebloodau. Keep an eye on our website and social channels during the week as we spotlight inspiring donor stories and celebrate your generosity.
- Will food and drinks be provided at the event?
Yes, light refreshments will be available. You can fill out this form to let us know your dietary requirements.
- I booked a ticket just for myself. Can I bring a guest?
Yes! Each donor can book up to two tickets in total. If you originally booked only one and would now like to bring a guest, just email us at nbdwevents@redcrossblood.org.au and we’ll help you with the extra booking.
- I’ve already booked, but I can’t attend anymore. What should I do?
If you cannot attend the celebrations anymore, please email us at nbdwevents@redcrossblood.org.au and we’ll cancel your booking for you.
- Is there a dress code for the event?
There’s no formal dress code for the event. However, if you’re attending a Processing Centre celebration, please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. We’ll be offering tours of the centre for those interested in seeing what happens to your donation behind the scenes, and closed-toe shoes are required for safety.
