More people can donate blood than you might think. Smoker? No worries. Covered in tatts? Great, show us. Lived in the UK? Not a problem. But, there are a few reasons someone might not be able to give. Double check if you can.

We have over 100 donor centres across the country. Find one near you and lock in your spot. Booking helps us plan and makes sure we’ve got the right people on hand to help you out.

Drink plenty of water the day before your donation, and again on the day. Especially in the three hours leading up. Try to be well rested and have a decent meal, too. It all helps you feel your best.

This is what you came for! The life-saving part. Sit back in a comfy chair, bring a book, headphones or just enjoy the atmosphere. When you’re done, help yourself to some snacks and rest up. You’ve just done something incredible.

Your blood is tested and processed, then we send it to hospitals. It could be for a new mum, facing the most stressful time of her life. It could be a cancer patient, who needs a boost between treatments. Or it could be vital during heart surgery.
