Want to know how it’s all going to play out? You’re not the only one. Let’s break it down.

            Steps

            Welcome

When you get to the donor centre, you’ll get to meet our friendly team. Have your ID ready, and let us know if you need your parking validated. We’ll give you a questionnaire to fill out. If you’re not sure about anything, we’re here to help.

            Quick health check

In a private room, a trained team member will go through the questionnaire again with you. They’ll do a finger-prick test to check your haemoglobin and take your blood pressure. Take this chance to ask any questions or let the team know if you’re feeling nervous.

            Time to donate!

Relax in the donor chair while we take care of the rest. Read, chat, listen to music or just chill. We’ll be by your side the whole time to keep you comfortable.
Questions or not feeling quite right? Let the team know immediately.

            Get snacking

We know it’s hard, but don’t rush to the refreshments area! Just rest in the chair for another five minutes, and head over when you’re ready.
Then you can help yourself to something to eat and something to drink.

            What's next?

Take it easy for a little while and drink plenty of fluids. Aim for at least three glasses in the first three hours. You should avoid strenuous activities for at least 12 hours. And think about the lives you saved for as long as you can.
If you feel unwell at any point, please call us on 13 14 95.
