Elvina is an applied epidemiologist and public health data scientist with a background in medical entomology. She works on climate-sensitive infectious diseases and transfusion-transmissible infections (TTIs), focusing on how extreme weather events impact disease transmission and blood supply systems. As part of an epidemiology and biostatistics team, she leads data wrangling, statistical analyses, and predictive modelling to identify emerging risks and support public health decision-making. Her PhD research explored host–Culicoides interactions and their role in bluetongue virus transmission in the Palaearctic region.
