Angus provides senior leadership across enterprise strategy and the organisation’s research and insight agenda. He is responsible for aligning research priorities with organisational strategy to meet current and future areas of need, ensuring research, foresight, and evidence are tightly integrated into strategic planning, performance monitoring, and executive decision-making.
Immediately prior to Lifeblood, Angus served briefly as Director of Research at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA). Before this, he led the Research and Innovation portfolio at Monash Health, where he established a dedicated research strategy function, strengthened clinical research capability, and developed programs to support entrepreneurship and clinician-led innovation.
Across his career, Angus has held senior leadership roles spanning government, academia, and the private sector, including contributing to the establishment of major national initiatives in precision medicine and synthetic biology. With a strong background in biomedical research and systems-level strategy, he brings a collaborative, future-focused approach to driving impact through research excellence, innovation, and partnership.
