Allogeneic Serum Eye Drops (AlloSED) requests now being accepted
We have now transitioned from the Autologous (AutoSED) and Patient-Tailored (PTSED) serum eyedrops to our new AlloSED product, and requests from treating ophthalmologists for eligible patients are now being accepted. Processing of AlloSED request will begin in February 2026, with supply to eligible patients starting in March 2026.
AlloSED are only available to patients who meet strict clinical eligibility criteria. They can only be requested by ophthalmologists who are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as ophthalmologists and who have an active AHPRA reference number.
Information detailing the mechanism for determining patient eligibility and requesting AlloSED is provided in the information sheet Serum eyedrops – Information for ophthalmologists [INF-00195].
- Please read INF-00195 in full before submitting a request. Incomplete or ineligible requests will not be approved.
- Complete and submit requests for eligible patients online at Serum eyedrops (SED) | Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. Requests must be submitted electronically to allosed@redcrossblood.org.au.
