Every part of our website is designed and developed with accessibility in mind. We’re always aiming for Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, which are the internationally recognised standards for web accessibility.
We consider it in our design, development and review processes, actively educating our teams as we go.
That means we:
- Design content with clear structure, colour contrast, and readable text
- Provide alternative text for images and other non-text elements
- Ensure our site can be navigated using a keyboard, and
- Test our pages with accessibility tools and assistive technologies.
What’s next?
We know we’re still a work in progress. So, we continually review and improve our website to maintain and enhance accessibility.
We’re currently looking at:
- Our PDFs and where they may not be accessible
- Certain JavaScript elements that could pose challenges for assistive technologies
- Zoom functionality
- Navigating maps and interactive elements, and
- Third-party services or plug-ins that may not fully comply with accessibility standards.
