Update on nationwide search for rare blood type to help sick mum

Lifeblood would like to thank everyone who donated blood in response to our appeal for Adelaide mum Amira Soliman. We appreciate your time, generosity, and compassion.

Over the last week, we identified more than 20 units of the rare blood needed for Amira. This included eight units from the United Kingdom and France.

We wish Amira all the best in her recovery, and we continue to test donations to identify A and O donors with this rare blood type to meet future needs.

We thank our regular blood donors and those who donated for the first time. We encourage you to continue to donate blood or plasma to support patients in need right across Australia. Each donation can save up to three lives.

If you would like to donate, please call 13 14 95 to make a booking or book online at www.lifeblood.com.au or via the Donate Blood app.
