Are you ready for the Local Government Blood Challenge? It’s set to be a big one. Just give blood or plasma between 1 July and 30 September to get involved.
In the past, this challenge has seen councils, directorates and shires around the country compete to save the most lives.
Right now, demand for blood is at its highest level in over a decade, with hospitals using more blood than they did compared to the last two years.
In fact, that’s why we’ve made a small change.
To help more Aussie patients, we're asking councils, directorates and shires to take part again, and this year, the challenge is open to all government departments and members of the community too. Competition is going to be fierce!
How to get involved
Ready, set... give!
- Register for a blood donor account if you don’t already have one.
- Join your Lifeblood Team by going to Teams > My Team after you've logged in — then just search your team name. If you don't have a team, follow our step-by-step instructions on how to start a team.
- Book a time to give life. Every donation you make automatically goes towards your team’s tally and the overall drive total!
Get your spot on the podium
Lifeblood Teams across the country are getting 'on their marks’ to save the most lives. You can check in on the front runners throughout the challenge and see how you measure up.
