Metallica rocks Lifeblood

Need a tee?

You’ll have to bleed for it.

That is, sign up to or be a member of Lifeblood Gifts (it takes just two minutes to sign up) and donate blood, plasma or platelets at one of these participating CBD centres during the below dates.

Or, if you’re a Lifeblood Team Champion, just book a group donation for your team for one of these donor centres and times and go along with your group to grab a tee.

Each centre is handing them out in the lead-up to their city’s M72 tour date so local Metallica fans can be decked in darkness for the epic day. Get in early to grab yours.

“Being a Lifeblood ambassador and also a Metallica fan, it is so exciting to have both of these guys join forces…I am so pumped for this.”

“Plasma donations are so important for me because every six weeks I have a treatment called IVIg, which is plasma derived, and so that regulates my immune system and helps my inflammation and basically enables me to live a full life.”

Blood and metal: a life-changing collab.

This isn’t the first time Metallica has celebrated the life-saving power of metal-loving blood donors. During the recent M72 World Tour in the US, Metallica and their foundation, All Within My Hands, helped the American Red Cross collect more than 2,000 blood and platelet donations in their first go, and they’re still going.

Now it’s Australia’s turn. How many donations will Aussie fans make?  It’s all within your hands…

Frequently rocked questions

How do I get a Metallica x Lifeblood t-shirt?

It’s just two easy steps to score epic threads:

  1. Book and attend a blood, plasma or platelet donation at one of these blood donor centres during the week before each M72 tour stop:
    1. Perth Donor Centre October 25–31
    2. Adelaide Donor Centre October 29 to November 4
    3. Melbourne Donor Centre November 1–7
    4. Brisbane Donor Centre November 5–11
    5. Sydney Town Hall and York Street Donor Centres November 8–14
  2. Sign up for to Lifeblood Gifts, our donor rewards program. You can do that online once you’ve registered as a donor or in one of the participating donor centres on the day.

Do both of these and you can snag a shirt at your donation (while stocks last).

Or, if you’re a Lifeblood Team Champion, just book a group donation for your team for one of the above centres and times and go along with your group to grab a tee.

My local donor centre isn’t on the list/I can’t make those dates to donate. Can I still get a Metallica shirt?

The shirts are only available at the participating CBD donor centres coinciding with the week leading up to Metallica’s M72 concerts in each city.

We hope that doesn’t make us The Unforgiven. Metallica, All Within My Hands and Lifeblood still appreciate your support. Every donation still saves lives: a sea of hearts beat as one.

What sizes will be available?

L, XL, XXL, but the sizes available at participating centres will vary and will be while stocks last.

How long will the Metallica shirts be available?

Only at these blood donor centres only during these dates (while stocks last):

  • Perth Donor Centre October 25–31
  • Adelaide Donor Centre October 29 to November 4
  • Melbourne Donor Centre November 1–7
  • Brisbane Donor Centre November 5–11
  • Sydney Town Hall and York Street Donor Centres November 8–14
I’m eligible for a Lifeblood Gift at my next donation. Can I get a Metallica t-shirt at the same donation?

Yes. You deserve double the reward.

What’s the story behind the design?

The design came from the mind of Squindo, the artist behind some of Metallica’s most iconic art. The one-of-a-kind design for Lifeblood donors features the band’s famous ‘A Sea of Hearts Beat As One’ lyric, encapsulated within a blood drop, as well as a visual nod to Aussie rock and Metallica fans.
